With the European Digital Identity Regulation coming into force in May 2024, customers can now access financial providers using a single verified identity. Pilots across the Nordics and Central Europe are testing cross-border eID functionality, enabling seamless financial interactions across multiple countries.

Anna shares an exciting example: a customer in Germany can now log in with her EU-verified digital ID to consolidate her German checking account, French investment platform, and Spanish savings account in one place. This integration strengthens security, simplifies consent management, and enhances user confidence—marking a major step forward for open banking.
