Enable Banking Changelog | Double Edition For February & March 2025

We’ve been very busy working on the platform and strengthening partnerships over the last couple of months, which meant February’s changelog was momentarily delayed. But not to worry we’re giving you a double edition, combining February and March updates into one power-packed changelog.

As always if you have any questions, feel free to reach out to us at support.api@enablebanking.com.

Significant Changes and Updates

ASPSP group information now available (DE and NO)

We’ve enhanced the response for the GET /aspsps request by adding a new group field. The field provides information about the group an ASPSP belongs to, including the group name and the group logo.

Example response:

Currently, ASPSP group information is only available for banks in Germany and Norway. The full specification is available here.

Automated ASPSP (Re)Onboarding

We have developed an internal automation tool for managing TPP onboarding and reonboarding to ASPSPs, reducing the risk of misconfiguration of integrations. This is especially critical as each time an eIDAS certificate changes a re-onboarding is required.

Enable Banking Feb/March Changelog - Automated ASPSP (Re)Onboarding

Upcoming enhancement:

A Control Panel extension will soon allow TPPs to monitor (re)onboarding progress and request additional integrations as needed.

Enhanced logging of returning end-users in the Control Panel

Previously, logs available in the Enable Banking Control Panel for authorisation flows did not track whether an end-user successfully returned to an application after authorisation. With this update the “Authorisation Flow” log entries now indicate if the user was redirected back to the originating application. This helps identify potential drop-off points in decoupled authorisation flows, where users authenticate and confirm authorisation without being redirected to the ASPSP's webpage.

The screenshot below demonstrates a decoupled authorisation log entry for Nordea Sweden:

Filter logs by PSU ID

When initiating an authorisation for access to account information using POST /auth request, client applications can pass their internal user IDs. This functionality is meant to improve traceability and provide better analytics about the Enable Banking API by applications. Client applications using the POST /auth request to initiate account information access can now pass their internal user IDs (PSU IDs). This is for better analytics and traceability of Enable Banking API.

To add an additional layer of security, Enable Banking’s API does not store raw PSU IDs. Instead, it stores their hashed values, which are sufficient for analytics but were previously not filterable in logs.

With the update, the Enable Banking Control Panel now allows filtering logs by PSU ID or its hashed value. If a raw PSU ID is used, hashing is done on the client side, ensuring data is never exposed to the API powering the Enable Banking Control Panel.

OpenAPI specification of Enable Banking’s API

Some developers reported that the OpenAPI spec for Enable Banking’s API, published in our docs, was not compatible with openapi-generator.  We have reviewed our toolchain used for generation of the specification and updated the specification to ensure compatibility with modern OpenAPI tools.

Smarter Infrastructure Automation

Managing infrastructure for multiple Third-Party Providers (TPPs), each with its own isolated environment, requires automation. That’s why we’ve completed a migration to Terraform, a move that improves visibility of our infrastructure configuration and makes it easier to manage dedicated environments in a structured, efficient way.

In the near future, we aim to provide TPPs with even greater control, including the ability to manually migrate between API versions when needed.

Updated payment status diagram

Since the introduction of the final_status field in the GET /payments/{paymentId} response, we have clarified how payment statuses are handled.

You can find the updated payment status diagram in our FAQ.

Updated privacy notices for the Enable Banking API and Enable Banking’s Website

We have updated our privacy notices for:

The website privacy notice now explicitly covers the Enable Banking Control Panel. The API privacy notice only applies when our own AISP registration is used to access the ASPSP's API for retrieval of account information. When another TPP uses Enable Banking’s infrastructure, this privacy notice is not applicable.

We continue to refine and expand our banking API integration network to ensure robust and efficient banking solutions.  Here are the latest updates across our integrations:
